Having seen him referenced in countless crossword puzzles, I decided to find out who Charles Lamb (pen name - Elia) was. I found this book on and bought it, hoping to become acquainted with his works.
The letters appear to be too personal in reference for me to understand, not knowing him, his history, works or acquaintances. Surely, a student of Lamb would find this collection more interesting or appealing. I sadly closed the book in less than 25 pages,hoping to find another book which gives me a more general impression of his works.
